First off,A quick Happy 11th Birthday to my Lynda Lou! If you know her, you know. There is no one sweeter on all the Earth. But now — BOOK NEWS! There has been a bit of a snafu with the ordering process. I was reminded this week that in life, things don’t always go exactly how we’d planned. I was also reminded that I hate that. The long and the short of it is this: Amazon, where I believe most people buy books, has released the book 2 months early, meaning there is currently no pre-order happening. Although we have asked to have this corrected, I am not sure if they will or not. So! Some of you have your books already! If you do, or if you plan to order soon — I would be forever grateful if you could write a review for me on Amazon. These make an author’s day! They are also really helpful in marketing and credibility when people search for children’s books. Thank you so much for doing this! I guess I’m not totally mad at Amazon for releasing a book set at the beach in summer. It works, right? So maybe snag one or two for your beach trip! Or gift one for a summer birthday! There’s also this idea: You could buy one for your best friend who has a child leaving for college. You’ll need to read the book to find out why…. On the other hand, if you'd like to go the traditional route and join the pre-order brigade, you can order off of Barnes & Noble online and you will get your book on her actual release date, August 10th. I personally think Barnes & Noble has a clean, pretty website and I’m drawn to it. But either way, I’m just happy if you order the book, hardback or paperback — you do you! My mom read the book last night, and when she shut it I said, “It’s better than the first one, right?” and she said, “Yes. It’s wonderful.” And this is the point! We try new things. We learn. We grow. We get better. We write. We write. We write. We keep trying. Here’s to a week of trying and getting better, and breathing when things don’t go to plan.
